They say the greatest innovations come from the deepest struggles. I believe that. Because I’ve lived it.
I started Pinecrest Eco‑Nest not from a place of privilege, but from a place of survival. After 25 years in the automotive industry, I found myself at a crossroads. A global pandemic. A child’s health crisis. A divorce from a partner who continues to make life difficult at every turn. And an industry that, frankly, stopped caring about the people who built it.
The Vision That Wouldn't Die
In 2020, I had a conversation with then‑Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland about a bold idea: modular, solar‑powered homes that could feed families, generate clean energy TO POWER WHOLE CITIES, and even power the countries’ data centres. That conversation was hopeful. But ex-wife and her Windsor assembly plant friends got in the way – as they often do. But they cannot stop the will of the people we still are building affordable housing all day year round. Just not in Windsor.
Now, with a new Prime Minister in office, I’ve watched as the same urgency for housing and energy innovation seems to have faded. It’s not for lack of trying – I’ve reached out. But sometimes, even the best ideas get lost in the noise of politics and competing agendas. [You know who with you know what midnight job]
The Betrayal That Shaped Me
I spent 25 years working on assembly lines – first in Brampton, then last in Windsor Ontario located on 2199 Chrysler Centre, Windsor, ON. I believed in the industry. I believed in the unions. But when my daughter was hospitalized with liver failure during COVID, Chrysler didn't even ask if I wanted my job back. They just moved on. Meanwhile, others who were caught stealing car radios and DVD player or the whole flat bed of newly built vehicle from the plant returned within six months tops, yet here I am 2026 they have not called nor sent me a letter asking if I want my job back. I guess I knew too much to protect eh Unifor 444?
What did I know that the union did not want me releasing to the line workers and media?
Was it because you failed and still fail to keep the Windsor assembly plant IN Canada?
Unifor 444 failed to fight the money Stellantis stole from the Canadian government when the government gave our tax dollars so that the vehicle manufacturing plant in 2199 Chrysler Centre, Windsor, ONTARIO CANADA can stay in Canada.
How much did Unifor 444 of year 2026 receive to keep quiet and not fight?
Guess we will never know now eh?!
That’s a hard pill to swallow. It makes you question loyalty. It makes you question the system.
I’ve seen things I can’t unsee the corruption, especially when a female who works for the union did not want to help or protect another female line worker and then the whole place erupted like a Borelli supervisor and it went Sanza Dominoe on all of us while ScaMherry and dick pumper is getting rich off of Whites white?.
I know that the Windsor Assembly Plant is leaving Canada – not if, but when. And I know that some institutions, including UNIFOR, knew and did nothing to stop it. That’s not speculation. That’s what I witnessed and THAT’s why I do not have my job back. And I am taking these homes with me. Good lock sleeping in the streets my friends still stuck at the Windsor Assembly plant 444. Can you help all these people with housing?
Why would I build in Windsor when there will be no jobs left in the coming years?
But Pinecrest Eco-Nest keeps Going though.
Because Carlo S. loves this country. And I believe we can all do better together while living better and renting smarter as a country of people from all walks of life.
Pinecrest Eco‑Nest is my belief to that not my answer. For the answer comes from those who truly control Southern Ontario.

And will continue to pitch to willing ears so they can join me on the revolution of living.
The Struggles Are Real
Divorce. Custody battles. A narcissistic ex‑partner and her assembly friends who seems determined to make every step harder. Financial constraints. Political indifference. A union that forgot about me the moment I stopped being useful.
These are not complaints. These are the challenges I’ve had to navigate…and WON!
Hope Is Greater!
I believe Mark Carney's vision for Canada could align with what we're building. I hope one day he'll listen. But even if he doesn't, I'll keep building. Because the need is too great to wait for permission.
A Message to Windsor
To the plant that fired me: I don't hold a grudge. But I will never forget that lesson you gave me.
To the union: I hope you remember who you're supposed to our representative and FIGHT for OUR rights not be bought to keep YOUR rights.
And to my friends who are still working in the Windsor Assembly plant located on 2199 Chrysler Centre, Windsor, ON N8W 3Y3: You are the reason I will never give up! You all deserve someone who never quits and cannot be bought and the union knew that. And how I had a business I do not need the funds or the position as a union rep when they did ask me to be a rep so that I could stop fighting THEM and fight WITH them…but the fight IS THEM and my ex-wife who dated someone who still currently works as a paint supervisor…hmm?
We are still raising a modest $5 million to prove this model. Then $250 million to scale. And ultimately, $1 billion to power cities across Canada and beyond.
But let’s showcase in a real Canadian Winter and how Pinecrest Eco-Nest ™️ with Nestron House ™️ has figured out a way to live in northern Canada.
But sadly, we are not going near Windsor. If my friends want us there. They can follow us and message us to come back.
This is not a pipe dream. This is a plan. And it's happening – with or without the support of those who refused to support us.
